INVENTION OF VITAFON. BORN WITH LOVE.

When life presents us with incredible challenges, stories unfold with unexpected twists. The story of “Vitafon” is no exception.

In 1989, the inventor’s wife was hit by a car traveling at high speed. She sustained a pelvic bone fracture and numerous bruises. Almost all injuries from the accident healed within a year. However, a large hematoma on her leg, formed at the point of direct impact from the bumper, stubbornly refused to dissipate. Neither massage nor conventional physiotherapy methods proved effective. Doctors unanimously recommended surgery due to fears of complications.

In a moment where surgery seemed the only way out, the inventor of the device, Vyacheslav Fedorov, followed by his deep feeling of love to his wife, decided that there should be another less risky way. Being a physicist and an engineer-researcher, he conducted a personal scientific and literary search to address this issue.

Fortunately, he came across an intriguing article on sound therapy in a collection of “Science and Life” magazine. It described placing a large speaker behind the patient and playing it at maximum power at a specific frequency. According to scientific research, the microvibrations from this speaker, perceived by the patient’s body, improved kidney function. However, using such method was difficult.

Intrigued by this phenomenon, the inventor refined the method by creating a device for contact microvibration and replacing the fixed frequency with a continuously changing one. Using the membrane of an old-fashioned telephone handset, the inventor developed a device that could be used even in domestic settings. The result of its use was the complete dissolution of the hematoma within a month.

But the story doesn’t end there. One incident, when Fedorov’s friend suffered a serious double open arm fracture, became the next test. Despite doctors’ predictions of a long recovery and job loss, the therapy with new device helped him recover within a few weeks.

Thus began the era of Vitafon. Realizing the seriousness of the contact sound microvibration method, the inventor patented it in 1992 and registered it under the trademark “Vitafon” in 1994. The device’s name was not chosen by chance: “vita” translates as life, “phon” as sound. Sound that sustains life.

As research continued, the application of the vibroacoustic method expanded. Its journey was long, and it acquired various names over its existence: “phonation,” “microvibration deficit compensation method,” “vibroacoustic therapy.”

Thanks to its simplicity and effectiveness, Vitafon device became indispensable in medical practice. Today, “Vitafon” is not just a story of healing and hope, but also a story of overcoming obstacles and believing in science.
